TestID Hunter is a Chrome extension for QA teams and a marketing website (testid-hunter.com / testid-hunter.fr). This page explains what data we collect, where it goes, and how you stay in control.
1. The Chrome extension
The extension records user journeys you explicitly start by clicking Record in the popup. For each recorded step it captures:
- URL, title and origin of the page you are on
- Screenshot of the viewport at the click moment
- DOM snapshot of the element you interacted with
- Your chosen action (click, type, select, submit)
All this data is stored locally in your browser through chrome.storage.local. Nothing is sent to our servers or to any third party. The extension has no server-side, no account, no analytics, no telemetry. When you uninstall the extension, Chrome deletes every stored recording automatically.
The extension makes no external network call at runtime. The only external resource it loads is its own icon bundle shipped with the extension.
2. The marketing website
testid-hunter.com and testid-hunter.fr use three third-party services, all minimal:
- Tailwind CSS (
cdn.tailwindcss.com): stylesheet fetched when the page loads. No tracking, no cookies. - Google Fonts (
fonts.googleapis.com): the Inter font is fetched from Google's CDN. Google receives standard HTTP request data (IP, user-agent, referrer). No tracking cookies are set by that request. - Formspree (
formspree.io): handles the "Book a demo" contact form. When you submit it, Formspree receives the fields you filled (name, email, company, role, team size, message) and forwards them to our inbox. See Formspree's privacy policy.
That is the entirety of our third-party surface. We run no analytics (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Matomo), no tracking pixels, no remarketing, no first-party cookies.
3. Data retention
Contact form submissions stay in our Formspree inbox until we act on them (reply, schedule a demo). Any follow-up email correspondence is kept in our business mailbox for the duration of the commercial relationship, then archived.
4. Your rights (GDPR)
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you by emailing hello@testid-hunter.com. We respond within 30 days.
You may also lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority. In France, that is the CNIL.
5. Security
All traffic to the websites is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Extension data stored in chrome.storage.local inherits Chrome's security model (encrypted at rest on supported platforms).
6. Changes to this policy
When we update this page we bump the "Last updated" date at the top. Check back whenever you install a new version of the extension or submit the contact form.
